Assistant Service Development Practitioners (Term time only)

 

An exciting opportunity has arisen in our Service Development team. We are recruiting for two Assistant Service Development Practitioners to work under the guidance of our current team of Service Development Practitioners. The roles will be based in our Education services in Lincolnshire, primarily supporting Kisimul School in Swinderby, although some input at Acacia School may be required. Kisimul provides therapeutically informed care and education, the Service Development Team work closely with our Therapeutic teams to support the implementation of these approaches in our services. There will be many opportunities for continued professional development within this role, through both internal and external training opportunities.

 

The Service Development team supports colleagues to enhance their knowledge and skills to support autistic people, people with a learning disability and associated complex needs. As an Assistant Service Development Practitioner you will play a key role in supporting the induction and continued professional development of Kisimul colleagues. You will have a direct effect on how well-equipped colleagues feel to carry out their roles. You will be involved in supporting a range of learning events within your sphere of knowledge for example Meas, our BILD certified course for behaviour support. You will provide direct support in the school environment, through modelling approaches, supporting competency development and being responsive to service needs. You will provide coaching and mentoring opportunities for colleagues to support them to embed their learning into practice. All of this will take place under the supervision of a Service Development Practitioner, who will provide you with guidance and support to fulfil your role.

 

Experience, skills and qualifications:

 

You will have completed or be willing to work towards:

Meas train the trainer course

Other qualifications relevant to health and social care, education or positive behaviour support are desirable but not essential.

You will have experience of working in an educational or care setting supporting individuals with complex needs, including a learning disability and autism and you will have the ability to relate this experience to current best practice. You will have experience of mentoring others and delivering learning and/or coaching sessions. You will have a passion for actively supporting colleagues to embed their learning into practice.
