We are recruiting for a Head of Property, to lead our property team to deliver both a pro-active and responsive maintenance and capital investment service across all of the company’s homes, schools and support service buildings.

What you’ll be doing

Managing and mentoring the Property management team.

Designing and delivering the most optimum service structure between employed staff and the use of external contractors.

Providing a facilities service in accordance with our service levels, identifying opportunities to improve the reporting, tracking and allocation of resources.

Taking a proactive view of our portfolio, identifying opportunities where service can be improved or added value realised.

Ensuring that the service provided is in line with Contract KPI’s, with particular focus on those for the people we support.

Taking responsibility for all MI data collation and accurate reporting in relation to the function.

Ensuring compliance with all internal procedures and policies – e.g. Procurement, Finance, Compliance, HR

Developing, managing and delivering the company’s ESG strategy and necessary internal and external reporting.

Representing the function as a member of the Senior Leadership Team and collaborating with peers and the Executive Leadership team.

Managing matters of a legal nature relating to our properties, engaging with our legal representatives as necessary.

Act as a key point of contact with the external companies who handle our Supported Living tenancy agreements, in particular the management of maintenance matters.

Providing professional input to the acquisition of new or disposal of existing properties.

What you’ll need

The post holder will be expected to hold a degree in a property related specialism along with membership of a professional industry body linked to civil engineering or surveying.

A demonstrable experience of operating within a multi-site environment, optimising the balance between your employed team and the use of external contractors to deliver an excellent and cost-efficient maintenance service across the business.

The post holder will have planned and then overseen the delivery of capital expenditure programs, ensuring that costs and progress are correctly budgeted and tracked, with appropriate upwards reporting.

Playing a leading role within your current business around the design of the organisations ESG strategy and its implementation along with internal/external reporting.

Experience of procuring external services to support the function in delivering to its aims.
