Job title: Business Development Manager
Salary: £65,000 - £70,000
Location: Home based with lots of travel
 
Role overview: As Business Development Manager, you will contribute towards the organisation’s growth strategy through the oversight of the delivery of organic developments and the delivery of growth opportunities through new business opportunities (including supporting the tenders and frameworks process). This position plays an essential part in Kisimul’s growth strategy for our children and adult services. 
 
Key Responsibilities Strategy:
• Contribute to the development and delivery of the strategic plan that meets the overall business objectives and which reflects the wider strategic intent of the group
• Developing the marketing strategy to ensure it supports the development of our brand profile driving external awareness and opportunities. 
 
Growth:
• Create the required demand for Kisimul services enabling the Operations team to deliver the occupancy and revenue budget
• Promote the work of Kisimul services for Children, Young People and Adults by developing new sales opportunities for growth and expansion
• To lead the strategic and day-to-day management of business development activities.
• Ensure the oversight of a robust and sustainable pipeline for current and new services and developments.
• Oversight of the marketing plan- working with the Marketing and Communications Lead and Assoc Director of BD and placements, produce, implement and monitor an effective marketing plan which delivers the business as usual and new growth plans.
• Oversite of all social media activity, advertising campaigns and external collateral production and communication
• Ownership, monitoring and reporting of internal marketing strategy- managers using the toolkit effectively, monitoring of key activities and success and addressing shortfalls and updating developments where necessary.
• Work closely with the Marcomms Lead to ensure activities, resources and strategies are professional and current
• Identify suitable tender/framework opportunities and working with the Commercial Contract Manager and bid writer to submit effective documentation.
 
External stakeholder management and relationships:
• Build external relationships with commissioners and other stakeholders
• Annual communication, engagement and events strategy, to promote Kisimul’s mission, purpose and values, maintaining established relationships and forging new ones with external partners.
• Oversight of events planning and delivery (working with MARCOMMS lead)
• Arranging attendance schedule at relevant external events (including by the wider team)
• Regular meetings with commissioners and placement teams. 
 
Internal stakeholder management and relationships:
• Build effective relationships with the Operations and Business Support Teams
• Visit Kisimul sites and build relationships with Homes Management and education teams 
 
Data management and reporting:
• Accountable for the capture, analysis and reporting of business development activity and marketing data
• Target setting for Ops Management and commercial team in terms of referral generation activity
 
Delivery of new services:
• Demonstrate a deep understanding of the external landscape and apply this knowledge to inform the development and execution of Kisimul’s commercial strategy and growth plan
• Identifies new markets, customers and partners which would convert to genuine growth / reputation opportunities for the business
• Seek to understand new and existing customer expectations and what products and services are marketable
• Develop a knowledge base on how new and existing competitors are creating value for customers
• Support with the mobilisation for new services ensuring that all developments are sourced, acquired and refurbished within agreed timescales and budgets.
